Entry certificate
Intra-Community deliveries between member states of the European Union (EU) are exempt from VAT under certain conditions in accordance with Section 6a of the German Value Added Tax Act (UStG). The entry certificate is proof for tax purposes that goods have actually arrived in another EU member state.
Overview of all shipping orders relevant to entry certificates (DE - EU)
An overview displays all shipping orders relevant to entry certificates for which a pickup has already been completed. Here you’ll find a variety of filters, including “Entry confirmed,” “Confirmation date,” “Service provider,” “Archive status,” and “Consignee.”
Entry is considered confirmed when the service provider sends the “IOD” (Info of Delivery) tracking event to Carrier Event Service as a delivery notification. The status is synced with Carrier Connect.
You must license the Carrier Event Service option (A401201: Option Carrier Event Service).
Learn how Carrier Connect fulfills the legal requirements under Section 17b (3) c of the Value Added Tax Implementing Ordinance: Entry certificate with Carrier Connect from AEB (in German).
Confirming entry manually
Shipping orders for which entry was not confirmed via the “IOD” tracking event, but for which another delivery notification exists, can be confirmed manually via the Carrier Connect user interface. You upload the corresponding delivery documents at the same time so that the shipping order and its documents can be immediately archived. You have the option to enter a note as to why the entry was confirmed manually.
Adding documents retroactively
You can retroactively add documents for shipping orders whose entry has already been confirmed and archived.
Details on “Archiving of tracking data for entry certificates” can be found under A401201: Option Carrier Event Service.
