A401201: Option Carrier Event Service

Carrier Event Service gives you access to your transport service provider’s tracking events directly in Carrier Connect.

The tracking and tracing data is imported through an interface from the transport service provider systems to Carrier Event Service.

Once the tracking data is imported, you can view it as an event list in the Carrier Connect shipping orders. Updated tracking events will be added during the package delivery process.

Basis for processing event data

For the event data to be processed, the tracking data must be

Importing into host system via API

Carrier Event Service also provides an API that you can use to import the events into your host system. Only tracking and tracing information for shipping orders managed in Carrier Connect will be processed and displayed.

Standardization using AEB standard events

Carrier Event Service converts all events reported by the transport service providers – hub scans, goods issue, delivery, damage, etc. – into standard events predefined by AEB. This makes it possible to compare the events of various transport service providers without converting each event during your project.

You can find an overview of all AEB standard events here: Data sheet of AEB standard events

The original event codes transmitted by the transport service provider remain available so that you can change the assignments after the events have been downloaded.

Archiving of tracking data for entry certificates

You have the option to have Carrier Event Service automatically flag tracking data for shipping orders sent from Germany to other EU countries. This identifies the tracking data and associated shipping orders for which entry certificates are needed.

An alternative proof is then used to securely archive the tracking data for the entry certificate for 10 years from the end of the current calendar year in compliance with recordkeeping obligations under tax law.

All shipping orders related to the entry certificate are also archived, including:

  • Documentation of the assigned transport service provider (usually loading list / manifest, waybill, shipping order EDI, or similar documentation)
  • Original transport service provider tracking messages and the tracking data converted by AEB
  • Detailed summary of all relevant shipping orders in PDF format, with all key data for each shipping order
