Sending arrival notifications and reporting seals
When a consignment in a transit procedure arrives, you must begin by sending the arrival notification. Seals and their condition must already be reported with the arrival notification.
- Go to Customs – Switzerland – Transit arrivals (CH) and click New.
- Follow the prompts of the Assistant and enter the necessary data.
- Switch to the Arrival notification sheet – Seals on arrival field group and enter the information on the seals and their condition (Seals OK field).
- Submit the transit arrival by clicking on the Assistant message.
- The status of the transit arrival changes to Sent.
- Unless the customs authorities initiate a control, you will receive the unloading permission.
- The status of the transit arrival changes to Remarks ready to send.
- After receiving the unloading permission, you have 4 days to report the unloading remarks. Read more about this under Sending unloading remarks.
If seals are reported as not OK, a non-conform message must be entered later in the unloading remarks.
If your arrival notification is rejected by customs, you can recognize this by the error icon in the Progress column. The Assistant provides tips about how to proceed.
The following sections describe how you can simplify processing: Creating transit arrival templates and Applying transit arrival templates
Multiple TADs are included in one transit arrival (main declaration)
If multiple TADs/MRNs are included in a transit arrival, these must be reported together in an arrival notification. The unloading permission, on the other hand, will later arrive separately for each MRN.
To be able to better track the progress or status of the main declaration and the declarations (TADs) it contains, use the Simple view or Multi-line view buttons in the transit arrival overview. In the simple view, you can see the status and progress of the main declaration. In the multi-line view, you can see the status and progress of the individual declarations (after the unloading permission has been given, a line with the status of Unloaded is added to each TAD).
