Creating, editing, and sending import declarations
You can create and edit import declarations and send them to the relevant customs authorities.
Proceed as follows:
- Go to Customs, click on the country concerned, then click Import declarations (XX), where XX stands for the country code.
- Open an existing import declaration with the status of New or Ready to declare. To create a new import declaration, click New.
- Follow the prompts of the Assistant and enter the necessary data. Complete the required fields and any items or optional data you wish to add on the Customs details sheet.
- Setting a confirmation code: To set a confirmation code, click the
icon behind this field. It will then be replaced by the
icon. Details: See Using confirmation codes.
- The Assistant alerts you once you have entered all the required data. Click the alert to send the import declaration.
- The status of the import declaration changes to Sent.
- The customs authorities will respond with one or more customs messages, depending on the e-customs system.
- Together with the customs messages, you will receive the import list (EL) and the delivery order (BS) which you can print out.
- Once the customs authorities have released the import declaration, it changes to one of the following statuses:
– Released if you also import eVVs in Customs Management, but the associated eVV has not been imported yet
– Completed if you do not import eVVs in Customs Management or you do import them and the associated eVV has already been imported - View assessment of duties: see Viewing bordereaux and eVVs.
