Configuring carriers in Carrier Connect

Carriers in Carrier Connect must first be configured under Master data – Carrier configurations before you can process their shipping orders, print their shipping labels, or complete their pickups.

Carrier configuration

Here you define the basic strategies for detecting pickups, calculating routes, checking carriers (maximum weight or dimensions for packages, etc.), determining the carrier address (address of account, etc.), and handling hazardous goods, where applicable. You can also specify which fields you wish to define as required fields.

Services

All services are enabled by default. Disable the services you do not wish to use.

Value-added services

All value-added services are enabled by default. Disable the value-added services you do not wish to use.

Info texts

All info texts are enabled by default. Disable the info texts you do not wish to use.

Extra fields

Click New to add all available extra fields, or click the arrow to the right of the New button and select Additional to customize which fields you wish to add.

Accounts

An account setup contains all the information a Carrier Connect client needs to use a carrier's services. The account setup contains the data with which you have been registered with the service provider or which you have agreed on with your service provider, such as your customer numbers, your shipping point addresses, number ranges, and the EDI connection.
