Printers

Theoretically, every printer running under Windows could be used with ASSIST4. But practice shows that special adaptations are often necessary for individual printers, e.g. regarding the document layout.

Therefore it is not recommended to use many different printer types at the various sites.

Depending on the document type different printers can be used:

• Laser printers to produce packing lists, invoices, reports etc.
• Matrix flatbed printers for pre-printed forms where copies are required (e.g. courier consignment notes).
• Thermal printers to print labels and stickers

The definition on which printer a document will be printed, can be set up in ASSIST4 either centrally for all workstations, or individually for each workstation. As usual under Windows, a document is assigned to logical printers to which a printer port is assigned in the Windows printer settings.
