Shipping labels and documents
Carrier Connect generates all carrier-specific shipping labels and other shipping documents required for transport.
The carrier-specific documents do not include generic shipping documents such as proforma invoices, export accompanying documents, and shipping documents for hazardous goods.
If a transport service provider does not have any special requirements for shipping documents in terms of layout and/or content, generally valid shipping documents and labels are generated by Carrier Connect that apply to all transport service providers. No information relating to hazardous goods is taken into account on these, see also Hazardous goods.
Carrier Connect uses the web service interface to access shipping labels and documents in PDF format from your host system and deliver them to your standard thermal printers and laser printers in native printer languages (ZPL, ZPL II, TSPL, DPL, etc.).
Carrier Connect provides labels and manifests that satisfy the specifications of each transport service provider. You have the option to personalize the layout to your preferences within the carrier specifications.
For information on upgrading to personalized label and manifest layouts, contact your AEB representative or submit a request in the AEB Help Center.
Please note that not every printer model is capable of printing label content according to carrier specifications. Non-compliant labels will prevent the timely transport of your shipments and may incur additional costs. You can find information on the printer models approved by AEB in the Carrier Connect system requirements (AEB Cloud). For information on carrier-specific label requirements as they relate to printer models and resolution, please refer to the Carrier Connect System Description – Functional scope of the carriers offered.
AEB recommends using certain paper qualities with thermal printers to meet carrier requirements (especially for barcodes). For more information, see the Carrier Connect system requirements (AEB Cloud).
