Creating a mailing list
The mailing list defines the recipients of an e-mail. Mailing lists are product-specific. You can freely choose the name of the mailing list for each product. The type of mailing list defines the possible types of recipients and how the e-mail is sent. All types with "e-mail" as part of their name will send an e-mail (see also Defining the e-mail dispatch type). All other types send SAP Office mails.
Go to AEB Cockpit: Customizing – Mailing list.
The following table gives you an overview of the possible types of mailing lists:
Type | Explanation |
---|---|
User group | In a mailing list of the User group type, fixed SAP users are entered that do not depend on the business object. |
Mailing list grouping | In a mailing list of the Mailing list grouping type, other existing mailing lists (independently of their type) can be compiled into new mailing lists. Mailing lists of the Mailing list group type can be compiled further. However, you need to take care not to create an infinite recursion. |
E-mail recipient | In a mailing list of the E-mail recipient type, you can enter e-mail addresses or SAP users with their e-mail addresses. The e-mail addresses are checked for valid syntax. |
Mails to recipients depending on a business object can only be sent if the business object exists in the database at the time of mailing distribution or the business object is being created at the moment.
Further mailing lists for Trade Compliance Management
If you use the Trade Compliance Management Add-on, two additional types of distribution lists are available for each business object: One with the addition "e-mail" to send an e-mail and another with the addition "SAP Office Mail" to send an SAP Office mail.
You can define the recipients from the business object in these mailing lists, e.g. via fixed fields of the header table of the business object or via partner roles, if available.
To send SAP Office mails, the database field entered must contain an SAP user. For mailing lists of the “e-mail” type, either an e-mail address can be entered directly in the database field or an SAP user. If an SAP user has been entered in the database field, the e-mail address is read from the master data of the stored SAP user. For mailing lists of the "e-mail" type, it is also possible to maintain a database field for the language in which the e-mail is to be sent. In all other cases, the language of the entered SAP user is used. If no language can be determined, English is used.
