Alert Agent settings
This is an optional setting.
It is not mandatory to set up the Alert Agent. It should only be done if you really need automatic deactivation of checks.
The Alert Agent provides an option of switching to the emergency mode in the event of a long-term interruption in the connection to Trade Compliance Management. In this case, all checks are switched off by Trade Compliance Management. This is recorded in log entries, and your administrators are notified by SAP® Office mail.
The Alert Agent analyzes the calls to Trade Compliance Management executed over a 15-minute period. If the number of erroneous calls exceeds the percentage you define, all checks are disabled.
If the emergency mode is active, you can only reactivate the checks manually using transaction /AEB/CMPEMERGENCY (AEB Cockpit: Administration – Applications - Emergency mode): See also section 6.2.
For the Alert Agent to function properly, the following steps are required.
Setting up the Alert Agent
Set up the report /AEB/CMP_ALERT_AGENT as a job in the client screened by Trade Compliance Management. The job should be scheduled with a period of one minute. For setup, use the Job Monitor (transaction /AEB/JOBMON).
Customizing settings for the Alert Agent:
- Go to AEB Cockpit: Customizing – Alert Agent.
- Mark the Activate checkbox in the main settings to activate the Agent.
- Define a minimum number of calls needed within a 15-minute analysis period to run the analysis. If Trade Compliance Management is not called at least this many times during the defined period, the analysis is aborted for that period.
- Define the percentage of erroneous calls needed to activate the emergency mode.
- If you define 50% as the percentage and stipulate at least 100 calls, then 50 erroneous calls during the analysis period will trigger a switch to the emergency mode.
The consistency check lets you know whether the configuration is complete.
