Business partner group
For checking business partners the existing business partner roles from the master data are summarized in business partner groups. A business partner group is also used to determine the organizational unit. Indirectly, by assigning a check profile to an organizational unit, it also influences settings for blocks and data to be checked.
Go to AEB Cockpit: Customizing – Business partner group to define the groups for which you wish to make an organizational or setting-related separation.
Assign a type to the business partner group when you create it. The type of the business partner group controls which rules are available for determining organizational units for this business partner group. Example: For the Customers type, the organizational unit can be determined using the sales organization and for the Vendors type, it can be determined using the purchasing organization, for example.
It is generally possible to later assign a check profile to each organizational unit, no matter which combination of business partner group and business partner type was used to determine it. However, certain settings in the check profile may then have no effect, for example, the order block cannot be set for a purely vendor-related business partner.
There are the following types of business partner groups:
Type | Explanation |
---|---|
General | With the Comprehensive check profile type, you can summarize all other settings (except for the settings across organizational units) in one profile. |
Customers | For business partner groups of this type, you can use the appropriate rules for customer business partners when determining the organizational unit, for example, "Determination using the sales organization". |
Vendors | For business partner groups of this type, you can use the appropriate rules for vendor business partners when determining the organizational unit, for example, "Determination using the purchasing organization". |
Employees | For business partner groups of this type, you can use the rules that apply to business partners having the Employee role when determining the organizational unit. |
Other | For business partner groups of this type, you can use rules that are not specific to business partners with the roles for customers, vendors, or employees when determining the organizational unit. |
Enter a name for the business partner group and use the Business partner role button to make entries for all required business partner roles of this group. Press F4 to get help selecting the business partner roles (you may make more than one selection).
