Configuring maintenance jobs
The transaction /AEB/MAINTCMZ (AEB Cockpit: Customizing – Maintenance job settings) lets you define the number of days after which logs are deleted by the job.
Certain processes, e.g. the synchronization job, write to the job spool. You can disable this logging in the Job spool sheet if it leads to an increased table size or you do not need this data in the job spool.
The settings for this job must be defined in each system. The settings cannot be transported. These settings should also be applied globally to all clients.
If nothing else was set, all logs are deleted after seven days.
Default settings field group
Here you define the value applied to all function calls and logs to determine when a function call or log can be deleted. You can also suppress the saving of function calls and logs by disabling the Logging option.
Alternative settings field group
Here you can customize the settings for any type of log. Such logs always consist of four values:
- Product
- Module
- Priority
- Type
Note that you cannot leave the product field blank and that none of the four entries may contain spaces.
You can run the search help to find possible values for alternative settings. You can only customize the settings of logs or function calls that have already been called in this system.
Custom settings must first be enabled before they can be used by the maintenance job (“Enabled” symbol in the Status field).
If you wish to use a custom setting again later, you don’t need to delete it, simply disable it.
If you would like to reset the settings to their default values, you can use the Reset to default values menu function. Available deviating settings are deactivated only and not deleted. The values for default settings are reset to their factory default settings.
