Checking the external connectivity
A check is performed whether the server on which your AEB Engine is installed can connect to AEB to download messages.
Proceed as follows:
- You must have the I_ADMIN role.
- Log in to any client of your AEB Engine.
- In the office, go to Administration – Connection settings – Internet and click Connection test to perform a connection test.
- Replace the entered URL with http://update.aeb.com/x4/X4Informations/news.zip and click Test.
- If the test is successful, continue with the setup process:


In the event of an error check your proxy settings in the connection settings and perform a new test with the appropriate settings. For further analysis, you can increase the trace level in the connection test.
If necessary, contact your IT department to inquire about the correct settings or request for “*.aeb.de” to be approved in your firewall for the server of the AEB product.
