Canceling transit departures (submit request for cancellation)

The following applies to international transits:

You can still cancel transit departures before activation, provided the goods have not yet been transported or have not yet left Switzerland. After activation, cancellation is no longer possible. In addition, a transit can only be canceled if it has not been referenced in a goods movement record that has already been accepted.

The following applies to national transits:

You can cancel transit departures with the status of Accepted, Activated and Control.

How to apply for a cancellation:

  1. In an open declaration, click on the Send cancellation request action in the Assistant pane.
  2. In the Request cancellation window, fill in any relevant fields and click OK.
  3. The status of the declaration changes to Sent/Cancellation sent, Cancellation variant.
  4. The customs authorities respond to you with customs messages.
  5. When a cancellation confirmation has been received, the status of the declaration changes to Canceled.
  6. If the request is rejected, refer to the next section.

Request for cancellation is rejected

If the request for cancellation is rejected, the customs declaration appears in the overview with an error indicator in the Progress column. The Cancellation variant remains in place.

  1. Research reasons for rejection: Any existing reasons for the rejection can be found in the customs message, which in turn can be found in the open declaration on the Customs information sheet under Customs messages.
  2. Click the Assistant message to reset the customs declaration.
  3. Then you can either send another cancellation request or abort the cancellation in the Assistant pane by going to the Actions group and clicking on Exit cancellation mode.

To only display customs declarations in the cancellation mode, go to the Variant filter in the customs declarations overview and select the Cancellation entry.

You can configure email notifications such that the person in charge of the transaction and any other people you define receive an email – see Setting up notifications of events.
