Editing export declarations with clearance location ‘customs office’ (e-dec)

If you create an export declaration with clearance location 1 (customs office) and do not select a customs office, you will not receive a selection result from customs on your export declaration initially. This means that the export declaration is not yet valid.

If the export declaration is not selected within 30 days, it will be automatically invalidated by customs. Customs will send you two reminders within this 30-day period − 15 days and 5 days before expiry of this deadline. Customs will not notify you separately about the invalidation.

  1. Create and submit the export declaration: See Creating, editing, and sending export declarations (e-dec).
  2. Make sure that the export declaration is selected within the period of 30 days.
  3. The status of the export declaration then changes to Selected.

Notes

Customs Management allows you to configure e-mail notifications to the persons responsible informing them about the expiry of the deadline when reminders from customs are received.

Customs Management allows you to set up a batch to invalidate export declarations that have not received a selection result after 30 days and have probably been invalidated by customs in the meantime. This makes it possible for you to keep track of your export declarations.

Alternatively, you can also manually invalidate such export declarations.
