Scenario 2: Customs messages relating to customs declaration have already been sent

If you have already sent out your customs declaration before the connection to the e-customs system was interrupted, create the fallback document from within the customs declaration.

Proceed as follows to enable the fallback procedure and to print the fallback document:

  1. Open the customs declaration.
  2. In the Assistant pane, go to the Actions group and click on Create fallback procedure.
  3. In the Customs information sheet, you will receive information and timestamps about the fallback procedure.
  4. Switch to the Documents sheet and print the fallback document.
  5. The status of the customs declaration changes to Fallback document printed. The fields in the customs declaration are now locked to prevent any additional input.
  6. Present the fallback document to the customs authorities. Contact the competent authorities to discuss the further processing of the fallback procedure.

Proceed as follows once the disruption has been fixed:

  1. Once the disruption has been fixed, the customs authorities send you the acceptance and release or an error message if there are any errors.
  2. Continue processing the customs declaration as usual.

Note

You can deactivate the fallback procedure as long as the fallback document has not yet been printed. Open the customs declaration. From the Assistant pane, go to the Actions group and click Deactivate fallback procedure. This also removes the additional information in the items.
