Opening a fallback procedure if the customs declaration has already been sent
If you have already sent your customs declaration before the connection to the e-customs system was interrupted, you must copy this customs declaration for the fallback procedure and send the fallback document to the customs authorities. Once the problem has been fixed, you must cancel the original customs declaration.
- Open the customs declaration and click on the Copy for fallback procedure action in the Assistant pane.
- A copy of the customs declaration (subsequent declaration) opens in a new window in the fallback procedure variant. In the Customs information sheet, you will receive information and timestamps about the fallback procedure.
- Print fallback document: Click the Assistant message to print the fallback document (FALLBACK).
- The status of the customs declaration changes to Fallback document printed. The fields in the customs declaration are now locked to prevent any additional input.
- Present the fallback document to the customs authorities.
- As soon as the fallback document has been accepted, the BAZG releases the consignment by email or verbally.
- As soon as the disruption has been fixed: Cancel the original customs declaration (previous declaration) by clicking on the corresponding Assistant message.
You can deactivate the fallback procedure as long as the fallback document has not yet been printed. Open the customs declaration. From the Assistant pane, go to the Actions group and click Deactivate fallback procedure. This also removes the additional information in the items.
