Opening a fallback procedure if the customs declaration has not yet been sent

If you have not yet sent your customs declaration, you can open the fallback procedure in the customs declaration.

  1. Change the customs declaration status to Ready to declare.
  2. Click on the Activate fallback procedure action in the Assistant pane.
  3. Enter the necessary information in the Fallback procedure window and confirm with OK.
  4. “Fallback procedure” is added to the title of the customs declaration. In the Notes field group and the Customs information sheet, you will find further information on the fallback procedure.
  5. Print fallback document: Click the Assistant message to print the fallback document (FALLBACK).
  6. The status of the customs declaration changes to Fallback document printed. The fields in the customs declaration are now locked to prevent any additional input.
  7. Present the fallback document to the customs authorities.
  8. As soon as the fallback document has been accepted, the BAZG releases the consignment by email or verbally.
  9. As soon as the disruption has been fixed: Send the customs declaration using the corresponding message in the Assistant pane.
  10. The customs administration checks whether the data has been transmitted correctly and carries out the activation and release.
  11. Continue processing the customs declaration as usual.

Notes

At the top of the Customs declarations overview, you can set the Variant filter to Fallback procedure if you wish to display only customs declarations created in fallback procedure.

You can deactivate the fallback procedure as long as the fallback document has not yet been printed. Open the customs declaration. From the Assistant pane, go to the Actions group and click Deactivate fallback procedure. This also removes the additional information in the items.
