Checking the status, selection result, and version (e-dec)

With every customs declaration (import or export), you will receive a status code that informs you about the status of the import declaration or export declaration. Furthermore, every declared item will receive a selection result that informs you whether controls are to be initiated. Customs Management will determine a selection result for the complete customs declaration (import or export) from the items:

Customs will also assign a version to import declarations and export declarations.

How to check the status code and the selection result:

  1. Go to Customs − Switzerland − Export declarations (CH) or Import declarations (CH).
  2. The Sel. result (selection result) column shows the result for the customs declaration (import or export).
  3. Open a customs declaration (import or export).
  4. Below the Assistant pane, the Notes section displays information about the status code and the selection result of the import declaration or export declaration.
  5. Switch to the Customs information sheet.
  6. Here you will find detailed information on the status code, the selection result, the timestamps, and the transmitted customs messages.
  7. Switch to the Items sheet.
  8. The Sel. result (selection result) column shows the selection result of the individual items.
