Creating and populating a data transfer package
In your data transfer package, you specify exactly which master data or configuration data you want to transfer.
Proceed as follows:
- The system in which you want to create the data transfer package must have the same name and service pack level as the target system.
- You must have either the I_ADMIN or the I_CLIENTADMIN role.
- In the Office, go to Administration – Tools – Data transfer packages.
- Click New and make the required entries on the Data transfer package sheet.
- In the Office, select an entry of master data or configuration data that you want to add to the data transfer package.
- Example: Go to Master data − Areas.
- Only transfer certain entries: Select these entries.
- Select Add to data transfer package from the main menu.
- Example: In the Areas overview, select menu Areas − Add to data transfer package.
- Only transfer specific entries that you have selected in the overview: Check the Selected XXX box.
- Example: Check the Selected areas box.
- Make all necessary settings, then click Add.
You can also create a new data transfer package here.
To do this, click New behind the Data transfer package field.
- The master data or configuration data with which you have populated your new data transfer package can be found on the Data transfer package entries sheet.
